Kenneth Lacovara: Hunting for dinosaurs showed me our place in the universe

This TedTalk is about a guy who started to look for dinosaurs and he discovered a new one which is eight or nine times bigger than a T-Rex, it's a very large animal that can't even fold down, because he would die.

He wanted to explain in the TedTalk that he found why we are in the earth, and it's thanks to a very small probability, which won't happen again if the world reseted the history, but we had the luck of evolving in that way from the dinosaurs extintion to now.

He explained that we have to apreciate what we have, because in the universe there is no another history like the earth one. Milions of other planets are out there, but only our planet have this history, and we have to apreciate it.

This TedTalk made me think a lot, but honestly is the worst i've read since we started to watch TedTalks, because it was hard to understand and with very tecnical vocabulary.

LIVING WITH LESS IS MUCH BETTER, by Graham Hill (Marc Leirado)

Graham hill , says that every day people have to buy many things to have more stuff , until the point that those things don't even fit inside their houses , and people look for more space to put their properties.
This causes many negative effects: like for example waste money unnecesarly. But the worst thing is that without realizing what we are doing with all our stuff we still have the same level of happiness.
Therefore the best way of living is having less things , having the ones you need , and have more freedoms that benefits us economically.
Graham hill , explains us his case , he wanted to live in manhattan in a big house , with a big office , and a lot of space to bring guests , etc. But in the end he had to stay in a small flat of 30 meters2 in manhattan. In his new flat he is very happy even though it has small dimensions.
This man says that when you have little space we should think of thi three things:

1) if we really need the things we want to buy , think if it is necessary or not to be happy.
2) we also have to think of how many things do we need , for example , how many chairs , cd's , movies, ... do we need , do we need so much ?
3) if we should buy multipurpose furniture to save space , like for example closer beds , extendable tables , ...

In conclusion , he proposes all this for us to figure out if we really need so much. If we could change something about our life , if we need more liberty , or more time, we have to make space for good things to enter our lifes.

How germs travel on planes –and how we can stop them, by Raymond Wang (Maria De Las Heras)

Raymond Wang, has made a study of how to avoid germs that we spend on a plane. He became interested in the subject, when he hear talk about the Ebola.

He believes, that we spent germs when we breathe , and that is why he has sought a solution to we can all breathe easy. The solution consists of: create walls of air that come down in-between the passengers to create personalized breathing zones.

This actually works is we would install the piece of composite material into these existing spots that are already in the plane . So it’s very cost-effective to install and we can do this directly overnight. All we have to do is put a couple of screws in there and you’re good to go. And the results are absolutely amazing.

And the mum explains that each girl has their own pond, and then the men fecundate it. But this situation turns very strange when the daughter said that the girls and the boys can´t be without clothes at the same moment, and together, and the mum said that when people turns very old, the situation comes.

This Ted talk it's about how de animation in 3D can help the scientifics to their hypothesis, because with the animation you can see the theories better than a draw in a paper.  For example an animation that can help the scientifics with a cure to the VIH. an a creation of a programe that can be use to create animations in 3D to be used to explain the hypotesis, because some of the scientifics don't have a lot of time to do this, and this programe help their to do it faster.

The reporting system that sexual assault survivors want, by Jessica Ladd (Elisa Ramos)

This video explains the situation of a girl called Hannah that was a sexual assault victim. Jessica explained this situation of hanna because on in 5 women an one un 13 men will be sexually assaulted during their college career in the United States. Less than 10 % will ever report their assault to their school or the police. On average, those who do report wait 11 months. 90% of sexual assaults are committed by repeat offenders. Only 6% of sexual assault reported to police end with the assailant spending a single day in prison, meaning that there’s a 99% chance that they will get away with it. This means there is practically no deterrent to sexual assault in the US.

That’s the reason to create an application where the people can report or explain whats happened to they. With this application they could prevent 59% of assaults from ever occurring.

Teach Teachers How To Create Magic

Christopher Emdin

In this talk Christopher starts describing different types of educators, The first people he describes are teachers that are planning their classes with education theory, lesson plans, how to graduate their students properly,..
Afterwards, he describes folks who know the skills about how to teach and engage an audience, that's why he calls them powerful educators. These master teachers, master narrative builders, master storytellers are far removed from classrooms. They got proper preparation in teaching, not in any college or university, but by virtue of just being in the same spaces of those who engage, such as barber shops, rap concerts, and in the black church, They all hold the secret magic to enthrall and to teach at the same time, and  according to him, it's a skill we often don't teach to educators.

For instance, the preacher bangs on the pulpit for attention, and those things are the skills that we need for the most engaging teachers. Emdin complains about teacher's education since it only gives you theory and tells you about standards which are things that have nothing to do with the basic skills that you need to engage an audience or a student. He adds that content and theories with the absence of the magic of teaching and learning means nothing.

According to him, this magic can be taught by allowing people to go into those spaces where the magic is happening. You've got to view those folks that have the power to engage and just take notes on what they do.
However, there are also teachers who have those skills, get into those schools and are able to engage an audience.

Finally, he assures that if we could transform teacher education to focus on teaching teachers how to create that magic,we would be able to make dead classes come alive, to reignite imaginations and to change education.

This is one of my favorite TED talks , and in my opinion, this is what all the teachers should do for the students to not get bored in class, and to enjoy more being at school.

The reporting system that sexual assault survivors want - Jessica Ladd

This Ted Talk is about systems to help sexual assault survivors, to report them easily and to avoid violations because in the USA one in five women and one in thirdteen men are sexually assaulted during their college career and the 99% of the offenders get away unpunished.

In her speech, Jessica Ladd explains that she has created a plataform for college campuses but that it could also be used in other areas as in the workplace.

That plataform consist in a website that lets you reporting by internet, writing your experience and saving it until you need it or the most outstanding thing, keep the name of the offender as another person writes the same, as they often are reincidents, that name would be sent to police to be investigated.

I think that this initiative is interesting and a good idea, it would bring support to 'survivors' and encourage people to report when something like this happens to them.

Jessica Ladd:

The reporting system that sexual assault survivors want

Jessica speaks about the sexual assault in the university and a new solution for report the assaulters.

She explain the problems in the American university’s and say that the big part of the sexual violation not appear never and this is a hard problem for the girls that live in the campus. But Jessica has a solution, a new tool for the sexual assaults, this consist a website with the information of the students and the people that suffered a violation, can report this person and if have two complaints the website send a message to the police and they act according to the facts.

With this new tool can be avoided by 59% of the aggressions and this is a very good solution for this terrible problem.

Jessica Ladd:The reporting system that sexual assault survivors want(Adrià Castellví)

Jessica explain a system to help people who had been assaulted, and people who haven't been assaulted yet.

The idea is encourage the people to report the sexual assaults immediately in a webpage in a application for phone that Jessica propose, in that web the information will be safe, and has a particular way to do thinks.
If someone assault somebody ( If Mike assault Deborah ) when Deborah report it ,Mike will be on file on the web confidently but if Mike assault somebody else (by example Jenny), and Jenny report also, the web will put on contact Deborah and Jenny and also will join the two reports and send it to the police that will be prepared to take some actions with that people to they can't get away whit it so easy.

With this we obtain many thinks, we avoid that people like Mike who has been assaulted sexual before and then he assault sexualy other people Stop assault repeaters. Also we obtain that people like Jessica will never been assault. And avoid other bad people assault other people and get away with it because the police will be waiting for that kind of people and make a reaction.

With this Jessica says that 59% of the sexual assaults will be prevented just stoping repairers more earlier. It's a system of information escrow like social security.

The main idea of that system is give one place where the survivors recibe the support and justice that they deserve with the authorities have the information that they need, in the firs place to research the case and interference where they consider.

In my personal opinion I think that I like the idea but I will speak first with the people who assault sexual other people maybe they aren't conscious of his actions, justice can't be broken but before to claim justice be more human and gentle and speak with that person and give another opportunity and after that report to the police and they will do all they consider necessary.

Thanks for reading, and for your time I hope that you have enjoy it like me.

CLINT SMITH- THE DANGER OF SILENCE (IRENE VEZZOLI)

Clint Smith starts his Ted Talk with a powerful quote by Martin Luter King “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends.”
What he tries to explain with this quote is that things that we don’t say matter even more than the things we say.

Moreover, he says that we all have had those moments when we hear or see something that we know is not right but instead of speaking up and let the others know our opinion, we just remain silent, because we are afraid of what other people are going to think or say about us. He highlights that this is a very selfish act because we are thinking about ourselves or our own benefit instead of thinking what the other person is feeling.

He concludes that we shouldn’t do that and reminds us that our voice is powerful and we should use it to change the world for the better or at least, try it.
