"How the mysterious dark net is going mainstream" by Jamie Bartlett (Roc Vela)

In this interesting Ted Talk Jamie Bartlett talks about the dark net, also called "the deep web". This term referst to the content on the World Wide Web that is not indexed by standard search engines, so you might find illegal material.

As the author begins, this gloomy place can't be found in a normal internet browser like "Internet Explorer", "Chrome" or "Firefox". The dark net is full of forbidden harmful substances such as cocaine, methanphetamine or marihuana, and you can buy them illegally without having to worry about who is sending you the things you requested. You can also easily find child pornography or live-action violence videos, so you shoud definitely be very careful when navigating in this web.

To buy in the deep web you must enter with a fake IP and pay with a crypto-currency bitcoin. It's not easy, though, but you'll surely find anything you're interested in. For example, you can find thousands of scanned books or eBooks for free, or whistle-blower websites that speculate about the secret government's decisions.

In conclusion, Bartlett explains the mysteries and wonders of this creepy but interenting site (which you can't find in a normal browser) with humor and enthusiasm. I chose this talk randomly but I liked it a lot as it reveals weird things you would normally find in the dark net.

I highly recommend you to listen to this fascinating talk if you're interested in the subject.
