Initialy explain a one example of a man who climbing a mountain and explain that the motivation who inspired the men to continue climb is climbing the mountain, no who good feels to climb the mountain.
After that, explain an experiment whose is based to build legos in differents prices. In first case people build lego to 3 $. After that cost 2.75 and every time cost less until the people don't accept build one. Ariely explain that the people who loves Lego doesn't care about the Price to build a Lego and the people who don't liked a lot prefered the maxim benefeit economy. In this experiment Ariely shows the people prefer money than be happy of build legos
After that , they're an other experiment who explained the motivation of people in three diferents points of view :
The first point of view is based of people work and his work is recognized ,people is more motivated and perfectly work for less money
The second point of view is based of the work of people is ignored people isn't motivated and work for a lot of money because they don't have any motivation.
The third point of view is based of the work are destroyed like if all the work they have in a time didn't serves for nothing. In this case they don't exist the motivation and the effort and the price to work is more expensive than the second case.
The finally of this experiment is explain that the most important thing in a work is the personal are motivating because if the people is don't motivating all effort who a lot of people done in a work is don't recognized and this provoque a big empty in the people.
The bosses should to recognized and interesed more in the effort who people have in the works because if the bosses don't valorate the workers the people only work for money and this is very sad.
Finally Ariely explain the difference between the idea of Adam Smith and Karl Marx. Ariely explain that the economic productive system of Adam Smith is fact for the industrial period. For this reason Ariely think that the idea of work of today is based more on the meaningful of Karl Marx who explain that the importance of work is not the money who recibes, the importance of work is the personal satisfaction who recibes to doing a work who liked, and likely this motivation you're a lot more productive because you're feel motivated. Ariely think that the idea of work is distorsioned and is doing this presentation to explain who for this is the real idea of work.
